Learn more about Stockton’s majors and minors.

Stockton. The perfect environment for …

Having the best year ever.

We designed The First Year Experience (FYE) to help you get to know your classmates and adjust to college-level study. The FYE includes your Freshman Seminar course: a class you choose from a range of unconventional topics like detectives in literature or sports in history. We also host the Stockton Outdoor Adventure Retreat (SOAR) for all incoming freshman. Spend three days and two nights making new friends at Camp Ockanickon. One of your first college memories can also become one of your favorites.

Working with the real deal.

Stockton has more full-time professors teaching undergraduate courses than any public college in New Jersey. This means NO teaching assistants and NO lecture halls. Ninety-five percent of our faculty hold the highest degree in their field and many have won awards, including the Pulitzer Prize, National Science Foundation (NSF) grants, and Guggenheim Fellowships. Our faculty are most known for the way they bond with our students.

Rethinking the meaning of “field trip.”

Almost all of our majors include a field experience. We want you to get off campus and apply what you’re learning in the real world. That can happen at our marine field station, in our Washington, D.C., internship program, during your student-teaching or when you’re observing patients at a local clinic. You’ll test your knowledge in a professional setting and gain marketable experience before you graduate.

Getting ready to walk tall.

Choosing Stockton means choosing a clear path to a satisfying career. We are tied with Rutgers for the third-highest graduation rate among New Jersey public colleges. Ninety-five percent of Stockton alumni surveyed in 2016 were employed or pursuing an advanced degree. Each year our Career Center hosts career and internship fairs, graduate school expos and on-campus interviews with major employers. You can also meet one-on-one with a career advisor to write your resume, craft targeted cover letters, practice interview skills and more.

Hey, would you like to learn more about a major or program?

We’d love to meet you and introduce you to some people in the program.
